The meta-theatrical approach of Sight Lines goes beyond mere performances. Through original interpretations that explain, analyze and make transparent the text, Sight Lines become partners in Literature education, providing discussion points and insights that can be used to deepen student engagement and understanding.

Dr. Dennis Yeo, NIE Literatur Lecturer

Our education division specializes in crafting analytical meta-drama using Literature texts as a base. Through a performance-lecture and a play within a play format, students cement the learning of their text and deepen their understanding and appreciation of the characters and the story.

The play within a play was a great introduction to dramaturgy for students and we really enjoyed how the many abstract notions of theatre was manifested for students to experience and bring back to the classroom in their further reading of the play.

Reviews

Perfect entry play for students curious about drama! The staging elements were so well-planned and are brilliant at helping students visualize what they cannot in a classroom – huge bonus for helping them break out of just reading.

Even though my students are not studying Shakespeare, it’s crucial for them to be exposed to Shakespeare and this was the perfect opportunity. The introduction at the start to highlight the literary devices that are so beautifully weaved into the text was great!

The show was a lively and engaging one, and it brought the text to life. We thoroughly enjoyed it as it spoke to the hearts of teenagers and adults alike. It’s definitely a great way for young minds to be educated of our heritage.

Besides the seamless transition between settings, what was equally, if not more captivating was how the cast made the show an enjoyable, interactive experience for the audience. A narrative that unpacks assumptions, surfaces intentions, and questions decisions. Worth a watch!
