Sight Lines is proud to present the Singapore Production of GREASE THE MUSICAL in September 2025. We are currently seeking highly-skilled triple-threat musical theatre performers to bring the energy, vitality and passion to this ultimate musical classic.
SHOW
Grease is the world’s most iconic and loved musical and nothing beats being back at Rydell High to meet your favourite T-birds, Pink Ladies and the gang.
After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year. Can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love once more?
Get ready for an unforgettable night with a medley of hits including Summer Nights, Grease Lightnin’, You’re the One that I Want and Hopelessly Devoted to You… Grease is the ultimate party musical and is definitely the one that you want!

AUDITION BRIEF
Monologue
• Please prepare a contemporary monologue, no more than 1 minute in length.
Song
• Please prepare 2 contrasting contemporary musical theatre songs showing range, in the style of the show
• The length of each song should not exceed 1min
• Please bring sheet music for the piano accompanist provided
• Sheet music should be placed into a clear folder, or taped securely onto cardstock
Dance
• The audition dance will be taught as a group and then presented to the panel in smaller groups
• Dance style: Musical theatre dance including Jazz, Rock & Roll, Jive and dance styles of the 50/60’s
• Please come in appropriate dance apparel: Leotard or solid colour fitted shirt, skin-coloured or black tights/leggings, jazz pants or athletic pants
• Please wear character shoes/heels (where possible, but not a must)
• Please have hair pulled back away from your face

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Grease is a high-energy show with a lot of physical movement and partner dance. As such, most roles involves some level of physical intimacy/touch. Intimacy occurs between multiple characters and includes kissing, embracing and other moments of physical touch. Characters who engage in specific moments of physical intimacy and kissing are noted in character descriptions.
Danny
The leader of the Burger Palace Boys. Strong and confident with an air of cool easy-going charm.

Sandy
New girl in town; hopeless romantic. Finds friendship in the Pink Ladies who help her uncover he own social savviness.

The Pink Ladies
The club-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls’ gang that hangs around with the Burger Palace Boys.
Rizzo
Leader of the Pink Ladies. She is tough, sarcastic and outspoken but vulnerable.

Frenchy
A dreamer. Good natured. Heavily made-up, fussy about her appearance – particularly her hair. She can’t wait to finish high school so she can be a beautician.

Marty
The beauty of the Pink Ladies; look older than the other girls, but betrays her real age when she opens her mouth. She tries to act sophisticated.

Jan
Funny, loud, and the awkward member of the Pink Ladies. Enjoys a good snack. Loud and pushy with the girls, but shy with the boys.

A super-cool, hard-looking group of high school wheeler-dealers…or so they think.
Kenickie
Second-in-command of the Burger Palace Boys. Tough-looking, tattooed, surly, avoids any show of softness. Has an off-beat sense of humour

Doody
Youngest of the guys. Boyish, open, with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude towards the other guys. He also plays the guitar.

The “anything-for-a-laugh” type. Full of mischief, half-baked schemes and ideas. A clown who enjoys putting other people on.

Patty
A stereotypical cheerleader; attractive, sure-of-herself, but can be given to bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She’s a bit of a pain and unpopular with the Pink Ladies, and can twirl a baton.

Cha Cha (Charlene Digregorio)
The best dancer at St. Bernadette’s. A loud mouth, she wins the dancing competition with Danny.

the class valedictorian. Physically awkward. An apple-polisher, smug and pompous and gullible.

Vince Fontaine
A typical “Teen audience” radio disc jockey. Slick, egotistical, fast-talking. A veteran “Greaser”.
